The BOK Center is a multi-use arena for concerts, performances, and professional sports events. The roof structure is comprised of long span trusses. The entrance to the BOK Center is constructed of a sloping glass façade that creates the “Icon Wall.”
CSD analyzed the roof structure and “Icon Wall” for environmental and construction loads for each sequence of steel erection. Due to the long spans of the roof trusses, shoring towers and temporary bracing were utilized during construction. Additionally, the “Icon Wall” did not achieve stability until it was fully complete, so CSD designed bracing to follow the erection sequence for temporary support. CSD provided assistance with temporary bracing and erection engineering for the steel erector.
