Evraz North America’s new rail mill will produce sections to support the railroad industry. The complex includes several structures with overhead cranes and long span trusses to enclose the steel making process.
The site had limited access, requiring cranes to operate from outside of the building footprint. This created a challenge when setting planar trusses spanning up to 192 feet. CSD partnered with the erector to use multiple cranes and temporary wire rope to brace long span trusses for stability. By establishing a stable starting point for each building, steel erection could continue at a fast and efficient pace for the rest of the project.
