Little Caesars Arena is a multi-purpose arena that primarily serves as the home venues for the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Pistons. The roof structure features large-span roof trusses spanning in both directions with hanging gondola seating.
CSD provided full connection design for the steel structure of the arena. Large nodes with connections to multiple trusses made it challenging to maintain constructability and efficient design. Tekla models were used to help determine the connection geometry for roof truss members. Hanging platforms from the roof required large amounts of adjustability in the connections for achieving the required elevations. CSD used proprietary design software, AutoCAD, and Tekla Viewer to complete these services.
