CSD has longstanding client relationships and deep experience in specialized situations, making us the ideal Erection Engineer for time-critical projects. The project schedule for the North Andover Distribution Facility in Massachusetts was critical so this required a unique construction approach.

The facility is a large distribution center with five levels of framing at approximately 715 feet wide by 1300 feet long. The completed facility will operate as a major distribution point for storage and package delivery.

To minimize the need for temporary wire rope bracing, CSD coordinated with the erector and general contractor to design and install temporary hard bracing in early sequences of construction. This allowed the steel erection to continue at a faster pace after this initial bracing installation.

Custom designed lifting devices were used on this project to allow for ground assembly of joists and bridging. This allowed for faster setting of these items and for safer working conditions at ground level.
